In 2010, the Obama administration issued a memorandum called "America's Great Outdoors". As a result, the Department of Interior Secretary issued an order to create 22 large landscape conservation cooperatives, or LCCs, across the United States. Idaho sits primarily in the Great Northern LCC, or GNLCC. A Steering Committee was created that was comprised of NGO leaders and federal agencies. Since its inception the Initiatives and NGOs have initiated activities to implement their conservation agendas. This includes wildlife overpasses as a beginning stage to implement eventual goals of corridors, connectivity, and land use planning. Due to lack of funding the LCCs are pretty much no longer operative.
However, NGOs, the federal government, and foundations have regrouped into new, larger organizations. In addition to all NGOs being partners with Yellowstone to Yukon, the Network for Landscape Conservation (NLC) is the organization where they now operate with similar work on landscape conservation. The Center for Large Landscape Conservation (CLLC) has transformed into more of a global network partnering with global organizations, and are active in influencing both federal and state policy. Information on both organizations can be found in the library.
This website is dedicated to educating Idahoans on large landscape agendas, how they have been implemented, and the direction they want to take Idaho for implementation of their conservation ideology. Y2Y, HOTRI/HDC, COC, WCS, TNC, GYC, and government agencies who partner with the initiatives and individuals includes the USFWS, IDFG, BLM, USFS, ITD, and FHWA.
The Library has categories with information on all of these individuals, groups, and activities which can be utilized as a resource for more information. Under the tabs is information on how areas in Idaho are being affected.
We believe Idahoans have a God given right to our land. This includes the right to have multi-use of our land, hold the express right to make decisions regarding our land at a local level through elected representation, the responsibility in protecting Idaho from these agendas, and are the principle voice in caring for Idaho. When efforts are made by individuals and groups who do not live in Idaho, who have agendas to redesign and environmentally re-engineer Idaho into something else, who don't respect our history, culture, traditions, and lifestyle, who want to restrict and dictate how we use our land, who work behind the scenes in these endeavors and are not forthcoming or truthful, we will be there to expose their agenda.
